Natural Ingredients That Act as Lip Plumpers

Natural Ingredients That Act as Lip Plumpers

In recent years, having the perfect pout has been a trend that women have been striving for. But with lip injections costing several hundreds of dollars, having significant lip plump is not something that everyone can afford to do. However, there are a few ways that you can enhance your natural lips without breaking the bank.

Lip Irritants

Lip irritants work by stimulating blood flow to the lips, making them swell, turn red, and maybe even sting. One natural lip irritant that can be found in your cabinet is cinnamon. A simple mixture of Vaseline and cinnamon can be applied to exfoliated lips to achieve more plumpness. Other lip irritants include peppermint, caffeine, and capsaicin (the spiciness in a pepper).

Direct Plumpers

Direct plumpers work by helping your lips increase the amount of collagen that it produces. A topical plumper that can be applied to achieve bigger lips is hyaluronic acid. It helps retain moisture creating a more youthful appearance of skin. Hyaluronic acid is what is also used in lip injections, but the topical treatment version may have smaller molecules so it can get through the skin barrier and create higher elasticity in the lips. A topical direct plumper including hyaluronic acid can be bought online but is typically more expensive than cinnamon.

Vasodilators

Vasodilators work by widening blood vessels in the lips, which increases blood circulation. The smooth muscle cells in the blood vessels relax, allowing them to expand and make lips look bigger and pouty. A vasodilator that can be used is niacin, also known as vitamin B3. Look out for niacin as an ingredient in lip glosses and products that claim they are lip plumpers so you know if they are effective or not.
